The Pool Terrace

At the western end of the sundial terrace steps lead down beside the summerhouse to the swimming pool, set at one end of the large lawn. The long bottom border here concentrates on a colour combination of blues and yellows.

Low growing shrubs and perennials mingle together in the long border below the yew topped retaining wall, a host to clematis, Carpenteria californica and the climbing roses Leverkusen and Golden Wings, their yellow flowers contrasting well in mid summer with the grey stone of the wall.
